It Does a Heart Good

Grammatically incorrect as the title may be, today, it does a heart good!

Sometimes, I worry about what kind of man Keegan will turn out to be. At times, he makes selfish choices, I see how he acts, and it makes me worry.

Not today.

Today, it does MY heart good.

Keegan was at a "friend's" house. The friend was not being so nice to him because another boy was there. Then, they wanted to watch a movie. Keegan asked if it was rated PG. His "friend" told him that it was. Keegan looked at the box to be sure. It was rated R, and Keegan told his "friend" that he couldn't watch that movie. The two other boys were going to watch it anyway. After being mocked for his stance, Keegan began to walk home.

Part of the way home, he decided to go back and try to convince the boys to do something else. They agreed, but then they wanted to shoot BB's or an arrow (with a compound bow) through one of the house windows, Keegan tried to convince them that it was a poor idea. As the boys began to taunt Keegan again, Jeff pulled up at the "friend's" house to take Keegan home.

It does my heart good to get a glance of God's redeeming work that is happening in my son. It does my heart good that Keegan is making good choices when we're not around. It does my heart good that Keegan still will talk to us about what is happening.

Praise God that Keegan had the opportunity to be tested, and that he withstood the test.

I can tell you that it IS amazing when they remember what we have been trying to drill in their heads and they actually apply it! Wow..that must of been hard for him to stand up to his friends but Praise the Lord he had the Holy Spirit working in him! Thanks for sharing!

Very cool...atta boy, Keeg! Good job, Sis. These are the moments that test true character...when no one (or, no one else in authority) is watching.
