Minor Injuries Anyone?

So, we seem to be running into a string of minor injuries here at the Pharm. Keegan was actually hit square in the head with a broom ball stick while playing last Saturday evening. We were about two inches away from a broken nose. He seems to be doing fine, even with all the ribbing about him being our unicorn son.

I must say that broom ball is a bit dangerous. Jeff took a tumble out on the ice, too, banging his head and back flat down.

Well, today, Keegan came running in from outside, and he was semi-hysterical. Either he had not had enough attention today, or he was really hurt. Apparently, he was really hurt. He told me that he fell on the ice and hit his chin. This sounded a bit unusual, so I asked him why he didn't break his fall with his hands. He answered that they were behind him. Um...

...After all was said and done, I figured out that he was pulling the little cart he uses to haul wood. Both of his hands were behind him pulling, and his feet slipped out behind him, leaving the chin to stop his forward motion. OUCH! Now he has a small scrape and a medium sized bruise on his chin.

Not wanting to be left out of all the fun, I decided to slice my finger with the bread knife tonight. It went into my skin maybe a quarter of an inch, but the little thing bled a bit. Now it is super-glued and doing better.

With all of that said, we signed Keegan up for his first wrestling match today. Hmmm...perhaps we should rethink this with the minor injuries list. Ah well. He is excited, especially because we bought him head gear and a singlet today. He told me that he really needed to wear his head gear around the house to become accustomed to them before the big tournament. Then, he wanted to pack his bag five days ahead of time to make sure all of his things were ready. At least he's excited about it. We should have a fun time.
